Universal Ford / Fox Buildings

To further their efforts to revitalize the Brady/Greenwood neighborhood with businesses that will enhance the local community as well as provide affordable housing that is suitable for teachers, artists and service workers, the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) renovated two historic buildings on Main Street in the heart of the Brady District: the Universal Ford Motor Company building and the Hotel Fox building with a total of 55,045 square feet. Both buildings occupy prominent locations on the north side of the Brady Arts District and present unique opportunities with the backing of GKFF to attract more residents and a variety of businesses to the heart of the historic neighborhood and contribute to its long term viability as a residential and arts district.

GKFF combined $5 million in New Markets Tax Credits from NMR and $5 million from REI Development Corp. (another CDE) with its funds for the leverage loan and bridge loans to finance the historic rehabilitation.
